    The Role
    Make a difference in our community

    The Environment Planner provides expert advice in relation to development proposals that may impact upon the natural environment within the City of Whittlesea.

    The role assesses relevant planning applications and development proposals to ensure compliance with environment and biodiversity protection policies within the Whittlesea Planning Scheme. The role will also assist applicants in understanding obligations under other complementary state and Commonwealth environmental legislation.

    About you
    You will have demonstrated experience in environmental planning and/or ecology, preferably in environmental sensitive and/or growth areas.

    You are passionate about a environmental protection and have a strong understanding of Victorian legislation as it relates to native vegetation.

    You will be able to identify Victorian native vegetation and understand ecological processes relevant to Council's local area.

    You understand the need to develop and maintain effective relationships between all levels of government, industry, agencies, communities, internal and external stakeholders to facilitate and delivery best practice environmental planning outcomes.
