    The Provider Assurance and Support Section forms part of the Program Delivery Division. The Provider Assurance subsection is responsible for the design, implementation and ongoing management of assurance activities for DVA's healthcare programs within the Program Delivery Division. The program of work incorporates risk and data analysis to prepare and implement an annual review cycle, developing and refining the supporting assurance framework and analysing data and program assets for the purpose of assurance activities.

    The Assurance Officer will be responsible for assessing compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory framework across DVA's healthcare programs. They will conduct reviews, risk assessments, and make recommendations on corrective measures to maintain the integrity and reliability of DVA's healthcare programs.

    Duties

    • Deliver assurance activities under the section's forward work plan.
    • Engage with stakeholders to collect information and conduct reviews.
    • Articulate information needs including data requests, and analyse data received in the context of assurance tests and reviews.
    • Analyse and interpret information from review results against DVA policy, provider rules, guidelines and business rules other regulations to make appropriate recommendations and develop written reports for a broad audience.
    • Complete documentation arising from review activities including communication of outcomes with stakeholders, referral for further action, updating relevant registers and artefacts.
    • Produce and regularly review and update assurance team procedures, templates and guidance material.
    • Contribute to the preparing the section's forward work plan.
    • Produce and maintain accurate records of work in line with DVAs records management policies and procedures.

    Eligibility

    • Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS).
    • All applicants external to DVA offered employment will be required to successfully undergo a pre-engagement screening check, even if they have a security clearance. The screening check is conducted in accordance with the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework requirements.
