    Jaxam are now currently recruiting for Mechanical Tradesperson's to join our team, based out of our Cardiff Facility on our Afternoon Shift. These roles are ideal for a Light Vehicle/Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Tradesperson wanting to transition into the mining industry and gain some new skills on underground diesel mining equipment.

    This is the perfect opportunity for a Diesel/Plant Mechanical Tradespersons that is currently working in the mining industry but are wanting to step back from the shift work and reap the rewards of work/life balance, whilst still working on Heavy Machinery for a mining company.

    This role will be reporting to the Workshop Manager, and is responsible for the repair and maintenance of our underground heavy machinery, mobile plant and equipment to achieve maximum equipment availability and productive life through preventative maintenance and quality repairs.

    These positions are full-time roles, working 38 hours per week, on a 4-day roster working Monday – Thursday, 6am – 4pm with the option for Overtime on the Friday, should you wish to work it.

    Requirements of the Role:

    • Cert III in Engineering Mechanical Trade OR Cert III in Mobile Plant Technology (or equivalent) in a relevant field
    • Minimum of 12 months' post trade experience;
    • Previous experience with repairing underground mobile plant (desirable) OR Previous experience with repairing opencut mining mobile plant (desirable)
    • Current driver's license
    • A good work ethic and positive safety attitude.

    To succeed in this role:

    • Demonstrate a commitment to our goal of Zero Harm;
    • Have previous experience with performing component change out and repairs.
    • Have strong fault-finding capabilities/diagnosis skills.
    • Adhere to all site safety standards and requirements; and
    • Completion of pre-starts, care, and maintenance of vehicles.
