    The Office of the Ombudsman WA acknowledges the Aboriginal peoples of Western Australia as the traditional custodians of the lands and waterways throughout Western Australia, and we pay our respects to their Elders past and present.

    We are currently seeking to fill the position of Inspections and Analysis Officer.
    This opportunity will be a permanent appointment.
    About the Western Australian OmbudsmanThe office of the Ombudsman has six principal functions.

    The office:

    Receives, investigates and resolves complaints about State Government agencies, local governments and universities;Reviews child deaths and family and domestic violence fatalities;Undertakes own motion investigations;Undertakes a range of additional functions, including statutory inspection and monitoring functions;Undertakes the Reportable Conduct Scheme; andIs the Western Australian Charitable Trusts Commission.

    The Ombudsman also undertakes the role of the Energy and Water Ombudsman.
    The Ombudsman is also the President of the International Ombudsman Institute.
    Staff of the Ombudsman's OfficeThe staff of the Ombudsman's office are its key resource.
    The office supports professional development through education and training and flexible work arrangements may be negotiated.

    This PositionThe Inspections and Analysis Officer is responsible for:
    Undertaking inspections of agency records and activities to monitor compliance with relevant legislation.
    Assisting in the statutory reporting on these inspections activities and their results.
