    Job Description

    Nine Audio connects with audiences right across Australia, with significant dominance in digital streaming. Nine is the clear No.1 in commercial share of streaming for All People 10+, and the No.1 in live audio streaming - double its nearest competitor in Sydney and Melbourne.

    We're looking for a highly-skilled technical leader with proven people & development team management experience to lead a team of engineers focused on delivering an amazing experience to Nine Audio Apps (2GB, 4BC, 3AW, 6PR).

    To succeed in this role, you will have a passion for managing people and a background in building high-quality front-end applications. You will be able to organise and motivate teams to consistently deliver on significant roadmaps of enhancements and lead a team of high-performing Engineers.

    You will have confidence discussing complex technical concepts with your peers and can articulate them simply and clearly to business stakeholders. You will manage multiple relationships, including product managers, senior tech leadership and external vendors.

    You are keen and capable of being 'hands-on', but you make the choice when and if you should be involved. Your experience in this area allows you to provide meaningful support to your team by reviewing work and providing feedback, helping engineers become more self-sufficient.

  • Demonstrated experience as an Engineering Manager, or leading from the front as a Senior/Lead Engineer.
  • Experience in web or software development
  • Strong technical knowledge and hands-on development capability in relevant technologies. (eg. Javascript, ReactJS or others as required by the squad)
  • Proven skills creating a high performance team environment
  • Managing yourself and your team in a fast changing environment with competing priorities
  • A strong understanding of agile development best practices including Scrum and Lean methodologies
