    Autism Connect Early (ACE) Programme Lead Teacher

    Imagine Childcare and Kindergarten West End

    Teaching - Early Childhood (Education & Training)

    The ACE Programme is seeking a passionate and motivated early childhood educator to join our transdisciplinary team of early childhood teachers, educators, speech pathologists, occupational therapists and positive behavioural support practitioners. You will provide specialist and quality early intervention support to children on the Autism Spectrum.

    Responsibilities

    • You will establish and maintain collaborative relationships with families.
    • You will work within a transdisciplinary team, delivering individualised and quality Early Childhood Intervention to children with Autism.
    • You will collaborate with your lead educator and the therapy team to ensure strategies to meet individual learning goals are embedded within everyday routines.
    • You will support meaningful participation within the mainstream Kindergarten Programme.
    • You will contribute to the monitoring and recording of child participation and developmental progress.
    • You will develop your skills by actively participating in autism specific early intervention training with experienced educators and therapists.
    • You will contribute to research processes as required for ongoing programme evaluation and research projects.

    Essential Qualifications, Skills & Experience

    • Diploma of Early Childhood Education, Certificate III in Early Childhood Education or other ACEQA approved qualification. Your role within the team & renumeration will be reflected by your qualification & experience.
    • Ability to Implement stimulating programs based on the children's interests, the EYLF and NQF.
    • Commitment to the provision of quality education to children with autism.
    • Confidence in building strong relationships and partnerships with children and families.
    • Ability to observe and record children's learning and contribute to their educational portfolios.

    Special Conditions & Requirements

    • Current First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Certificates or a willingness to obtain.
    • Current Blue Card or a willingness to obtain.
    • The right to live and work in Australia long term with no restrictions.

    Imagine Childcare & Kindergarten is a long daycare centre in West End, Townsville. The centre is designed to inspire children, setting the foundations for lifelong learning. It is a warm and nurturing environment for both staff and children. It is well resourced with modern classrooms and outdoor play areas designed to encourage nature play, exploration and adventures.

    Autism Connect Early (ACE)

    The ACE Programme offers Early Childhood Intervention to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who are experiencing developmental delay. The ACE programme has been developed by Ashton's Place, a not for profit organisation that aims to provide Early Childhood Intervention to children within the childcare and Kindergarten Environment. Ashton's Place has partnered with Imagine Childcare and Kindergarten to implement the ACE Programme and ensure that it is offered within a holistic and inclusive childcare and Kindergarten environment.

    The Autism Connect Early (ACE) Programme is a transdisciplinary early intervention program within a long daycare centre for Autistic children aged 3-6. Running alongside the mainstream Kindergarten Programme, the ACE Programme follows an Autism specific curriculum in a 1:2 -1:4 teacher student teaching ratio. The Programme aims to promote skill development via social connection and relationships, meaningful participation and individualised intervention plans.

    The ACE Programme is currently offered at 4 locations, with another two sites opening soon. The advertised position is for a role based at our growing Townsville (West End) programme.
