    About the role

    We are on the lookout for an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to join our tight-knit team at our Deer Park Chemical Manufacturing Facility. This is a permanent full-time, days-based position, and will work on our 24/5 batch processing plant. The successful candidate will report to the Superintendent – Maintenance.

    The Electrical & Instrumentation Technician will be responsible for the ongoing execution of safe and efficient electrical and instrumentation maintenance for the Deer Park Specialty Emulsifier Plant.

    What you will be doing

    • Ensuring plant, equipment repairs, modifications and monitoring occur within health and safety guidelines;
    • Investigating, analysing and determining root causes of Electrical & Instrumentation plant failures;
    • Coordinating and communicating with various stakeholders to complete and resolve both planned, unplanned maintenance and small project activities;
    • Participating in pre-shut-down work scoping and shut-down facilitation execution;
    • Ensuring maintenance budget expenditure is targeted to the right plant and equipment to obtain maximum value; and,
    • Executing maintenance activities via SAP.

    What you will bring

    • Trade Qualification in Electrical is required (A Grade electrical license);
    • At least 5 years of relevant experience;
    • Experience in a heavy industry/continuous manufacturing environment/chemical plant with exposure to control systems (DCS), Programable Logic Control (PLC), Safety Instrumented Systems, Condition Monitoring, Motor Control, Process & Analytical Instrumentation and Control Valves is preferred;
    • Previous experience working in Hazardous Areas is preferred;
    • Knowledge of maintenance methods e.g. preventative, predictive, condition monitoring is ideal.
