    Truck Salesperson / Business Development

    Welding Solutions is an industry leader in water truck manufacturing due to our high-quality innovative designs and excellent customer service. We supply to Australia's largest Mining, Civil and Plant Hire customers.

    Position Overview

    The Sales and Business Development Manager is essential to the continued growth of Welding Solutions and we are currently seeking a very customer focused team member able to develop new customers and work closely with existing customers.

    The successful candidate will be able to work closely with customers to help them better understand opportunities regarding exactly what they need and what Welding Solutions can offer from initial discussions through to final product delivery. This will be achieved by effectively developing rapport with both new and existing customers and working closely with the broader Welding Solutions team to deliver and surpass customer requirements.

    Customer focus is central to the role and if you enjoy understanding the needs of the customer and then being a key part of the team delivering to those requirements then this role could be for you.

    Being able to proactively work with external and internal stakeholders is essential to success.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Work very closely with existing and new potential customers to identify opportunities for the business both short-term and medium to long-term;
    • Develop additional understanding of customer requirements and communicate market intelligence to the Welding Solutions team;
    • Develop new and additional business for new truck builds, tank builds, trailer builds and develop the spare parts sales business to ensure support;
    • Build account customer base;
    • Identify new opportunities, potential markets and customers for the business ;
    • Meet sales performance goals and KPI'S including monthly sales target, future new sales targets, spare parts support whilst ensuring customer satisfaction;
    • Maintain existing client accounts and previous tank/build sales;
    • Support existing and develop new leads for the supply of new water truck/tanks, pressure washer and diesel trailers;
    • Conduct in person and telephone sales visits to customer and ensure that the CRM is updated;
    • Manage leads, follow up to covert enquiries to sales and new accounts;
    • Prepare quotes for new truck builds and spare parts as required;
    • Deal directly with clients and truck dealers, to manage built products and custom builds;
    • Hand-over of new vehicles, build rapport with existing clients to ensure repeat business;
    • Assist with parts sales and process orders as required or In the Parts Interpreter's absence;
    • Regional and interstate business development trips;
    • Maintain CRM system and contact information;
    • Develop a social media sales and marketing strategy to drive business growth;

    Skills and experience

    • Must be self motivated with a positive can do attitude.
    • Excellent communication skills - written and verbal.
    • Strong sales ability with extremely high customer focus
    • Proven sales experience working within the Mining and Civil, Truck or Plant Hire industry.
    • Must be computer literate with competent use of Excel and word and basic accounting package knowledge.
    • Using a CRM programs and able to ensure all systems are updated with the latest customer information.
    • Truck salesperson licence or willing to obtain.
    • HR licence preferred for client truck handovers.
