    Job Description

    Nine News is looking for an experienced court reporter to join its lively and fast-paced Darwin newsroom. We're looking for a confident and enthusiastic journalist who isn't afraid to do the hard yards, while giving a fair and accurate report of proceedings.

    You will have experience covering court and crime, a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, the ability to deliver high-quality content and an understanding of social media. This is an opportunity for a motivated journalist to take their career to the next level, with a company that can offer an exciting career path.

    The Role:

  • Source and produce compelling stories each day for our local and national bulletins
  • Deliver relevant content that both engages our existing audience and attracts new viewers
  • Work under deadline pressure in a fast-paced environment without compromising on quality or accuracy
  • Focus on online engagement to further boost growth in our product
  • Monitor socials and local papers for good local stories
  • Deliver to tight deadlines
  • Provide innovative ideas for compelling storytelling across television and digital
  • Cultivate a strong network of contacts
  • Qualifications

  • A confident and experienced journalist with demonstrated ability
  • Strong news judgement and high level of accuracy
  • Bachelor's Degree in Journalism or equivalent
  • Confident writing style, on-air presence and ability to package for TV news
  • Willing to embrace change and demonstrate agility in a fast-paced sector
  • Self-starter who can maintain high levels of personal organisation and time management
  • Harding working, detail-oriented and able to stay calm under pressure
