About the role
The Telehealth Nurse provides culturally appropriate primaryhealth care and access to after-hours emergency care by supportingclients in managing their health concerns and accessing timelymedical assistance. The Telehealth Nurse is responsible forproviding clinical support to clients outside of regular businesshours. The Telehealth Nurse works within a team and is integral toensuring cultural integrity and high standards of clinical carewith support from senior nursing and general practitioners. TheTelehealth Nurse works rostered shifts 7 days per week (1700hrs -0100hrs).
This role requires excellent communication skills and clinicaljudgement to assess client's needs accurately over the phone and toprovide medical advice that is appropriate to their context.Referral to the local clinic team will be required on occasionseither immediately in an emergency or the following morning.
The position sits within remote services and works with a teamincluding a GP, Remote Area Nurses, Clinic Managers, AboriginalHealth Practitioners and MrACC.
