    Description

    An opportunity has become available for an Electrician to join our Pelletising Plant. In this role you will work as part of a team to achieve targeted levels of plant availability through planned preventative and corrective maintenance. Reporting to the Electrical Maintenance Lead working on a 4:3:3:4 roster and averaging a hour week.

    Key responsibilities will be:

  • Execute approved maintenance strategies and scheduling of the works
  • Identify opportunities for improved asset performance and recommend appropriate changes to support plant performance
  • Provide technical support for all electrical issues and standardise the plant, equipment, services and systems where practical
  • Working in a professional, timely and safe manner following all SIMEC Mining's standards and procedures
  • You are a reliable and safety-focused Electrical tradesperson who is an effective communicator, demonstrating success working independently as well as within a team environment.

    You will have:

  • "A Class" electrical licence - Essential
  • Understanding of safety procedures used when maintaining fixed plant
  • Experience in fixed plant maintenance within mining is preferable
  • Understanding of maintenance principles and plant improvement processes
  • Strong technical and electrical aptitude
  • SIMEC Mining , a member of GFG Alliance , has operations in SA and NSW. Our Iron Ore mining operations in South Australia's Middleback Ranges, south west of Whyalla, consist of three primary mine sites: Iron Baron, Iron Knob and the South Middleback Ranges. Our Tahmoor Colliery in New South Wales, is an underground longwall coal mine with an associated coal preparation plant, producing high quality coking coal for global markets. Administration functions and ore pelletising and port facilities are located within the city limits of Whyalla, with corporate functions based in Adelaide and Sydney.

    The Iron Ore business is on an exciting trajectory to expand our mining and processing operations with significant investment over the next three years. Our operations in Tahmoor NSW produce metallurgical coal for the steel making process where the business is currently investing to expand and extend the life of the operations.
