    EPIC ESSENTIALSDue to the ongoing success of our growing water services team, we are currently seeking a qualified candidate to take on a role as a hydrogeologist based in our Brisbane office.

    We have the projects and team to develop the technical skills to further your career at Epic.

    The candidate will play a key role in the execution of projects for a wide range of clients, working as part of a dedicated water services team, which includes a team of six experienced hydrogeologists and specialist integrated surface water technical leaders, spread across three states.

    In the role the candidate will support the delivery of environmental projects with a focus on hydrogeology, including a range of field and desktop investigations throughout Australia and overseas.


    This position offers excellent variety of work, including:
    Planning and execution of hydrogeological investigation programs
    Hydrogeological logging and interpretation, including lithology, yield and water quality
    Design and installation of groundwater monitoring bores and vibrating wire piezometers
    Design and installation of water supply bores
    Permeability testing of aquifers including slug testing and pump testing programs
    Groundwater monitoring and sampling
    Groundwater resource investigation and characterisation
    Preparation of groundwater monitoring and management plans
    Preparation of groundwater impact assessment reports, including dewatering impact assessments
    Groundwater recharge and water balance assessments
    Input to integrated water cycle management plans
    Working with interdisciplinary teams
    Input to contaminant fate and transport assessments
    Fieldwork, including exciting travel opportunities, is an integral part of this role.

    The role involves undertaking both desktop and field-based activities and may involve work in remote areas for extended periods of time (up to 2-3 weeks), which will be balanced with both time-off-in-lieu and field allowances.

    The role also involves writing internal and client correspondence and reports and data interpretation & analysis.
    Experience in design and installation of groundwater monitoring bores and vibrating wire piezometers is desirable.
    WHAT YOU WILL BRINGTo be considered for this position, you will need to possess the following:
    Tertiary qualifications from a recognised institution in hydrogeology / water resources / or environmental science / engineering related discipline or similar relevant degree
    A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in an environmental consulting role, preferably operating in Australia
    A current driver's license and ability to drive manual and automatic vehicles
    Proficient written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues concisely
    Competency in planning and undertaking field investigations and willingness to undertake field work in remote areas
    Competency in design and installation of groundwater supply and monitoring bores including vibrating wire piezometers
    Strong written and verbal communication skills
    Demonstrated team player willingness to take ownership of projects
    A love of the outdoors and hands-on work.
    The following would be desirable for the role, but not essential:
    Off-road vehicle experience
    Experience or interest in design and installation of groundwater bores
    Experience or interest in water balance assessments
