POSITION SUMMARY

Stocks, folds, straightens, and arranges clothing, shoes, underwear, and other clothing items. Clears sales floor and aisles of empty pallets and debris. Checks for correct merchandise signs. Ensures merchandise is marked with a merchandise number and has appropriate signs. Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and suppliers. Follows proper safety procedures and standards.

Job Duties/Essential Functions

• Fold, straighten, and arrange clothing in layers on stacked pallets and hang and straighten clothing on racks
• Stack merchandise from partial pallets onto full pallets
• Stack items or opened cases of items on shelves
• Communicate with supervisors and managers to determine merchandising plan and priorities
• Write lists of merchandise to be brought from steel, by Forklift Driver, for stocking
• Move and position pallets of merchandise
• Cut boxes, bin ties, and shrink-wrap on pallets
• Secure merchandise on pallets and tag bins or pallets to be returned to steel
• Follow merchandising standards and practices
• Align merchandise, and collect and returns stray items and stock to maintain high merchandise levels
• Spot for Forklift Drivers to keep people out of fall-danger zone
• Follow all safety and security procedures
• Clear sales floor of empty pallets and debris, and check for correct merchandise signs
• Re-wrap loose merchandise, operate cardboard baler and trash compactor
• Follow established inventory prep guidelines prior to physical inventory
• Follows proper merchandising and general safety procedures and standards
• Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary
• Provide prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and suppliers
• Assist members to load large items in their cart
• Direct members to merchandise and relates merchandise status knowledge.

Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery

• Step stool, trash compactor, cardboard baler, pallet jack, cutter, RF gun, trolleys & flatbeds, box trolley.

Non-Essential Functions

• Assists with front end duties and in other departments of the warehouse, as necessary.

Qualifications (Costco-specific or industry specific skills that candidates should possess):

• Education/Training: High School Certificate or higher
• Licenses/Certifications: None
• Experience/Skills: Customer service, or comparable experience, basic maths skills.
