    By joining our regional services team as a Farm Engagement Lead, you will be responsible for managing our valuable farmer relationships as part of our GippsDairy team. You will regularly engage with dairy farmers to help build an understanding of their farm business needs, recommending the right services and resources to help support profitability, sustainability and best practice on their farms.

    Central to your success in this role will be your ability to not only build relationships but create opportunities to deliver meaningful and supported engagement with dairy farmers. You will ensure farmers are aware of, and contribute to, the planning, design and context of resources and programs that Dairy Australia develops. Your aim will be to build knowledge of current and developing issues and share that with both our internal teams and farmers to ensure relevance and knowledge sharing for the industry.

These properties cultivate potatoes, carrots, onion, broccoli, andcauliflower under pivot-irrigation across a total area of 340ha. Furthermore, there is an additional 1000ha of land available for expansion, as part of our goal to continuously boost productivity.As Mixed Crop Farmer, you will be accountable for maintaining the highest standards of operational efficiency by implementing and overseeing best practices across all areas, including irrigation management, spraying, harvesting, planting, and all other designatedresponsibilities.Job Tasks and responsibilities:
    • Assist Farm Manager & Agronomist with irrigation, soil monitoring and pest control
    • Ensure effective running of farming operations according to high horticulture standards
    • Operate a broad range of machinery and carry out minor maintenance
    • Ensure all special requirements are met during harvest
    • Coordinate & train staff and contractors
    • Complete QA requirements that meet audits' standardsAbout You
    • Enthusiastic and willing to learn, the successful applicant will ideally have comprehensive knowledge of horticultural practices, and be able to drive tractors, mix chemicals, and understand cultivation principals for vegetable crops.To be considered for the role, it's important you can address the following criteria:
    • Minimum 3 years' Horticulture experience
    • Freshcare knowledge
    • ChemCert accredited
    • First Aid Certificate
    • Valid driver's license (C class) – unrestricted manual license (essential)
