    Our Opportunity

    Work Location: Hedland Operations

    • Rail. Fortescue's Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.

    Roster: 4/3 FIFO ex. Perth or 4/3 residential in Port Hedland.

    Role overview:

    Reporting to the Superintendent Rail Engineering, this role will provide leadership in reliability, condition monitoring and minor projects for all of Fortescue's rollingstock assets.

    The Supervisor Rollingstock Engineering is responsible for overseeing the asset management plan and key inputs for the ten-year capital portfolio for all assets. The successful candidate is accountable for ensuring the team effectively manages reliability whilst supporting our key stakeholders with their day to day challenges.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead and mentor a team of locomotive engineers, ore car engineers, graduates, undergraduates and vacation students.
    • Work with maintenance teams to ensure strategic and asset management plans align with 2YR IP plan and 10YR capital planning process.
    • Providing specialist engineering solutions across a wide range of asset and life cycle issues.
    • Leading small through to large-scale engineering investigations. This will include major maintenance activities, failure investigations (Root Cause Analysis), reliability reviews, rectification and upgrade works.
    • Identify, assess and manage operational risks.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Minimum 5 years' experience in Mining/Heavy Industrial environment.
    • Minimum 5 years' experience directly supervising a team.
    • Engineering degree - Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics.
    • Good leadership skills with ability to positively influence people to achieve their targets.
    • Excellent stakeholder management skills including ability to interface with suppliers, customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
    • Self-driven individual, willing to be flexible and have the ability to demonstrate initiative.
    • Current Driver's License (C Class).
