    An exciting opportunity exists for a passionate and dedicated educator to join the executive leadership team at Cavendish Road State High School as Head of School.

    This is a temporary full-time position commencing 8 July 2024 until 13 December 2024, unless otherwise determined.

    In this role, you willimprove the educational outcomes of students in the school, develop the quality of teaching and learning and play a vital role in delivering the strategic vision of the school and the department.

    As part of the Executive team, you will be responsible for leading and managing a number of whole of school portfolios,as well as driving student improvement through developing the quality of teaching and learning and nurturing positive relationships between students, teachers and stakeholders.

    About the Role:


    The Head of School will have proven strategic experience in capability and capacity building in the context of the school's authentic approach to effective pedagogy.

    This requires the Head of School to possess high level communication and interpersonal skills and develop and implement through a collaborative teams leadership a range of strategies to empower Heads of Department and teachers to optimise teaching and learning with precision and impact.

    Necessarily the Head of School possesses a high level of data literacy to inform and guide, identify progress in school priorities and student achievement targets, with a view to extending and optimising student outcomes in an already high performing school.

    The Head of School will have relational skills to engage others and continue to promote a forward looking and innovative professional culture within the school, quality assure inclusive programs and differentiation as required to target groups.

    The Head of School has a clear understanding of the connection between learning and wellbeing and also provides supervision and guidance to the school's wellbeing team.

    Responsibilities include, but not limited to;

    Assist the Principal to lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.

    Deputise for the Principal when required.
    Uphold school associate leadership as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
    Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
    Set high standards for student and staff performance.
    Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
    Form partnerships with parents, other government agencies, community groups, industry and business.
