- Design, develop, and maintain web applications using Django
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
- Work with outside data sources and APIs
- Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
- Work on bug fixing and improving application performance
- Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency
- Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent
- Commercial experience in web development using Django
- Experience with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Experience with version control and distributed version control tools such as Git
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Django applications to back-end services
- Knowledge of other web technologies and UI/UX standards
- Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
- Strong unit test and debugging skills
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
- Technical experience in one of the following tools, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism or UIPath (desired)

The role
Our Web Development Team aspires to create value and improvement through the development of web applications using Automations and Web Applications.
In this role, you will support, manage, and improve automation and web-based insurance solutions. In addition, you will work with partners and internal business teams to design and deliver web-based solutions for their businesses, thus helping to increase efficiency and optimize the cost of operations. You will also be required to support and maintain web applications once in production, including problem analysis and root cause investigation.
