    Job Description

    We're looking for a passionate, hands-on Quality Engineer with experience in manual testing, creating and executing test suites for web apps and/or native apps (AndroidTV, AppleTV) for Australia's leading broadcast video on demand platform 9Now. 9Now offers a destination for consumers around Australia to catch up on their favourite programs anywhere, anytime, on the device of their choosing.

    The CTV (Connected TV) team is an agile software development team with the core responsibility of building out Nine's suite of applications that run on multiple devices, including smart TVs and set top boxes. We are passionate about bringing an amazing 'living room experience' to our audience and work closely with product and user experience teams to deliver high-quality software. We are highly collaborative and open with a strong focus on mentorship, innovation and inclusivity.

    As a quality engineer you'll be responsible for:

  • Being the voice of quality in the team
  • Manual testing of existing and new features and user flows across our Connected TV applications
  • Coding alongside engineers, deploying to test and production environments
  • Building, using and improving various automation tools and frameworks
  • Identifying, highlighting and implementing quality improvements across the product, process and culture
  • Setting directions for quality tooling and strategy
  • Working in small autonomous Agile squads
  • Providing mentorship to other quality engineers, instilling a strong focus on security and quality
  • Exercising values of shifting quality left in a dynamic, Agile - DevOps model of software delivery
  • Qualifications

    Essential experience and skills:

  • Strong knowledge and experience with test methodologies, QA processes, the software delivery life cycle including test planning, test execution, bug reporting & test sign-off
  • Experience in building, maintaining, and scaling automation testing using various frameworks
  • A commitment to quality in your work and that of your team. You've helped create high quality software through implementation of automated and manual QA processes
  • Experience with Git, Continuous Integration/Deployment, Agile Software Development, especially using Atlassian tools like JIRA and Bitbucket
  • A strong understanding of Agile development best practices including Scrum and Lean methodologies.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
