- Prepare high-quality sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and maki, following traditional Japanese methods and our restaurant's unique recipes.
- Ensure the freshness and quality of fish and other ingredients, performing quality checks and coordinating with suppliers as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the sushi preparation area, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, sharing knowledge and techniques related to sushi preparation.
- Develop and manage employee schedules, ensuring that all shifts are adequately staffed according to operational needs and budget constraints.
- Oversee the inventory management process, including the ordering of supplies, equipment, and stock to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- 1+ Year working in capacity of Sushi Chef with a solid track record of working in sushi bars or restaurants.
- Proficient in various sushi-making techniques and knowledgeable about Japanese cuisine and ingredients.
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Knife skills and attention to detail in food presentation.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to mentor and train staff.
- A team player with a positive attitude, capable of contributing to a collaborative work environment.
