    ABOUT THE ROLE

    This role is a Permanent position working 9-day fortnight, DIDO from our Boddington Bauxite Mine, is located a short drive from the community of Boddington (10 minutes), Pinjarra (50 minutes) and the City of Mandurah (1 hour).

    As the Specialist Senior Mine Monitoring & Control, you will be responsible to provide specialised mine monitoring and control leadership to the operations and execute continuous monitoring, analysis and benchmarking of communication and mining systems performance, data accuracy and systems health. Identify and implement technology-based improvement initiatives that enable operational safety excellence and support business priorities.

    Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:

    • Provide high-level technical services to BBM's Mine Services and Mining Operations and fleet management facilities in the areas of mine monitoring and control; including computer networks to assist in guarantying safety, optimising operation, reducing cost and improving productivity.

    • Coordinates and project manage the installation and configuration of hardware and software for Mine Monitoring and Control (MMC) systems used at BBM including (but not limited to) fleet management system, collision awareness system, operator alert systems (e.g. fatigue) and machine health, as well as all tasks and activities relating to the maintenance and performance of the mine monitoring and control system components.

    • Ensures MMC data is available and accessible to operational teams.

    • Proactively develops and fosters collaborative relationships with Maintenance sub-functions to ensure timely maintenance of all MMC systems components, maximising equipment availability and reliability.

    ABOUT YOU

    You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:


    • Exceptional safety leadership with an ability to identify and eliminate hazards in the workplace.

    • Ability to work both independently, under pressure, showing initiative, meeting deadlines/priorities and achieving outcomes in a complex environment.

    • Experience with corporate and OT networks, including router, WiFi and LTE

    • Ability to develop common systems and standards working with employees not under direct authority lines.

    • Demonstrated ability to foster exceptional working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

    • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to negotiate, consult, interact, and influence across teams in the wider organisation.

    Qualifications for this position are:


    • Tertiary qualified in Computing/Information Systems, Electronics, Communications, Electrical or Mining Engineering or other relevant tertiary/trade qualification.

    • 8 to 10 years of experience in a similar role within heavy industry.
