    Description

    Wood is currently seeking a Civil Engineer in order to grow its Perth Mining & Mineral group to meet the large demand in critical metals projects. Commencing into the Detailed Design phase of the project you will need to have a sound background in civil engineering design and coordination to ensure the detail design is executed successfully. This project promises to deliver to those looking for a challenge and inclusion within a successful team.

    Wood is at the forefront of engineering solutions for a net zero future. A key component of decarbonising the world is the Mining and Minerals Industry which supplies the critical minerals required for this revolution. Wood is currently delivering critical metals projects (Battery and Magnet metals) all over the world, including Copper, Lithium, Vanadium, Rare Earths, and Base Metals projects.

    Wood is currently seeking a Civil Engineer in order to grow its Perth Mining & Mineral group to meet the large demand in critical metals projects. Commencing into the Detailed Design phase of the project you will need to have a sound background in civil engineering design and coordination to ensure the detail design is executed successfully. This project promises to deliver to those looking for a challenge and inclusion within a successful team.

    Ideally, you will have a degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised tertiary institution, with 2+ years relevant industry experience, knowledge of mining projects and exposure to critical metals.

    What will set you apart from other applicants will be your previous design experience on major mining projects and work history with an international engineering company.

    Your background, experience, and qualifications will also include:

    • Strong professional communication skills
    • Ability to discover issues and participate in recommending solutions to technical and commercial issues uncovered during the course of performing assignments
    • Experienced user of relevant software and calculation templates
    • Professional level of ability in the application of standards, processes and procedures and how they are used in work execution
    • Professional level of knowledge of applicable codes and standards
    • Technically competent in own discipline, and pursues continuous professional development of skills and knowledge according to standards
    • Driven and Lifelong learner attitude towards knowledge of the relevant regulatory framework, legislation changes, initiatives and industry technology developments and promotes this to direct manager / supervisors
    • Demonstrated ability to apply principles, mathematics or industry knowledge in the improvement and development of designs
    • Where applicable, applies mature professional knowledge and experience to assignments where issues and factors to be considered may be characterized by unusual demands and require additional evaluation to establish the nature and scope of the problem

    Please note, only applicants holding valid working rights in Australia will be considered. We are open to hiring those local in Perth, based in Brisbane, or based in Melbourne.
