The Northern Territory Department of Environment, Parks and Water Security is looking for a suitably experienced person to work within the Development Coordination Branch as a Vegetation Assessment Officer.

This is a full time permanent position, located in Palmerston. The position supports the sustainable development of the Northern Territory's land resources by assisting with the assessment of land clearing applications ensuring alignment with Government's commitments to managing climate change risks while building resilience in the environment.

The successful applicant will have experience in managing projects and competing priorities. They will provide advice to the public, industry and other government agencies on matters relating to the management of vegetation and land resources.

You will also gain experience in the interpretation of legislation and regulations, and will have the ability to prepare quality technical reports and have effective communication skills. To be successful, you will also have the ability and willingness to undertake field inspections and work in a small team environment.
