    Data Center Critical Facilities Specialist

    The role:

    The Critical Facilities Specialist supports the team by performing repairs and leading site maintenance at a static site, ensuring adherence to Equinix global standards.

    Given the make up of the team all engineers work across engineering disciplines and help train and develop colleagues needed. Strong mechanical/HVAC qualifications and experience are needed for the role as well as the ability to work and collaborate positively with vendors, customers and the team around you.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support and Advice: Provide the team with engineering support and expertise and act as a subject matter expert (SME). Offer training to team members as needed.
  • Breakdown and Repairs Management: Manage breakdowns and repairs of data center infrastructure, following manufacturer's guidelines and standard methodologies.
  • Maintenance Scheduling and Planned Preventative Maintenance: Coordinate maintenance schedules and perform planned preventative maintenance activities.
  • Security Policy and Procedures: Maintain security policy and procedures for the site.
  • Reporting: Review specialist contractual reports and activities.
  • Consistency to Policy: Ensure repairs on data center infrastructure are performed according to manufacturer's guidelines and standard methodologies.
  • Problem Solving: Conduct root cause analysis and repair failed components.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with regional construction or design teams on design changes.
  • Design: Validate design criteria for new principal power installations.
  • Qualifications:

  • Trade Certificate or Degree in Mechanical/HVAC/refrigeration or related field
  • Willingness to work autonomously and unsupervised when required
  • Ideally, some data center, industrial and/or mission-critical exposure and experience
  • Positive demeanor and outlook, enjoys working in a team environment
  • Ability to attain and maintain NV1 security clearance
