    Default job background
    Description

    About the Role

    At YP-COPMI, you have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on families by providing specialized mental health support for children and parents in need of compassionate, family-focused care.

    The role involves delivering time-limited mental health support for children and infants when their parents are linked with an Adult Mental Health Team, addressing severe or complex mental health disorders.

    You will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team within the Adult Mental Health Team and the broader YP-COPMI HNE team, which includes the CAMHS Special Program Coordinator and other COPMI Clinicians.

    Your key responsibilities include:

    • Providing specialist advice and consultation to adult and CAMHS mental health colleagues;
    • Enhancing the delivery of Family Focused Intervention;
    • Offering mobile, assertive, and flexible support to improve patient outcomes and reduce disruptions such as mother-baby separations during hospital stays.

    We are seeking an emotionally intelligent, client-centred Senior Clinician who is passionate and enthusiastic about working with families experiencing acute mental health challenges. Strong interpersonal skills are essential in this role to ensure effective care provision and support for the parent-child relationship.

    Requirements

    To be successful in this role, you must possess:

    • Appropriate tertiary qualifications, professional registration/membership as applicable, plus significant clinical experience in Child and Youth Mental Health;
    • A minimum postgraduate Masters in Clinical Psychology and current registration with AHPRA for Clinical Psychologists;
    • Qualification in accordance with Schedule C, and eligibility for Level 3 of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award for Social Workers/Occupational Therapists;
    • Current unrestricted registration with AHPRA and meet the requirement for Clinical Nurse Specialist 2 grading under the NSW Public Health System Nurses' & Midwives' State Award for Nurses;
    • A current unrestricted Australian drivers' licence and willingness to travel for work purposes.

    About Us

    YP-COPMI offers specialized, time-limited mental health support for children and infants when their parents are linked with an Adult Mental Health Team, addressing severe or complex mental health disorders.

    We deliver integrated, collaborative care, providing family-focused assessments, supporting parenting, and promoting child development.
