Job summary

Deliver specialised ear and hearing health care services in a culturally safe and effective manner by providing evidence-based treatment, education, and training, promoting well-being, maintaining patient data on appropriate health systems and providing preventative ear and hearing health messages through health promotion and education.

Responsibilities

• Work in partnership with relevant providers to deliver and record culturally responsive ear and hearing health care through targeted outreach service provision using established information technology systems to capture data as per departmental policy to ensure continuity of client care.
• Mentor and deliver health education to Primary Health Care (PHC) workforce, families and key stakeholders in otitis media prevention, management and clinical care through culturally appropriate training using evidence-based practice clinical guidelines and health promotion.
• Engage with Aboriginal families and community members to strengthen community involvement in health service delivery.
• Provide clinical supervision, training, mentoring and support to Trainee Aboriginal Health Practitioners.
• Follow defined service quality standards, Workplace Health, and Safety (WHS) policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken, to ensure high quality, safe services, and workplaces.
• Foster a positive workplace culture through role modelling behaviour.
