    The Tasmanian State Service (TSS) is the largest employer in Tasmania, with over 28,000 employees providing services to the Tasmanian community at all levels.

    The Child Health and Parenting Service (CHaPS) is looking for a suitable Allied Health Professional candidate to join our dynamic team in providing quality service to families of children under 5 based in the North West Parenting Centre in Tasmania.

    The CHaPS Allied Health Professional is responsible for:

    • Providing therapeutic Psychological or Social Work services to families with children under 5 years of age within a primary health care framework in accordance with the philosophy of CHaPS, Agency policy, legal requirements, and the Code of Ethics of the appropriate professional body (e.g., Australian Psychological Society [APS] or Australian Association of Social Workers [AASW]).
    • Utilising evidence-based and best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework.
    • Providing evidence-based assessments and therapeutic interventions to clients of CHaPS and their families.

    Details of Appointment

    Permanent, part-time, day worker position working 38 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

    • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or fixed term full-time, part-time, and casual vacancies.

    Salary: $110,425 - $121,907 pro rata, per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

    You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

    Please note that access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme.

    Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022.

    In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

    • Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum.

    Essential Criteria:

    • Satisfactory completion of an approved allied health professional tertiary qualification/program of study and registered with the relevant National Board or, in the case of self-regulated allied health professions, full membership/eligible for membership with the relevant professional association.
    • Current Working with Children Registration.
      *Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee's responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change.

    Desirable Criteria:

    • Current Driver's Licence.
    • Experience in therapeutic counselling, children and families and/or perinatal and infant mental health.
