    About the Opportunity Mapei Australia has an opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join our team.

    The Senior Accountant will support the Finance Manager to ensure the provision of accurate, timely, and cost effective commercial decision support to facilitiate the achievement of the longer term strategic goals and objectives of the business, while ensuring compliance with company and statutory reporting requirements.

    The position will suit someone who is motivated, works well in a team environment, and has a systems optimization and continuous improvement mindset.

    About the Role Provide expert commercial advice and support to the Head of Finance and Finance Manager.
    Develop and review business cases and support the Finance Manager in the approval process.
    Provide support to the business for delivery once approved.
    Manage and support operational improvements to deliver business targets.
    Provide quality information and reporting to support business decision making.
    Complete all monthly reporting within the corporate consolidation tool.
    Liaise with external auditors and assist the audit of financial records as required.
    Capitalisation of capital expenditure projects into the Fixed Asset Register.
    Determine asset impairment and revaluation.
    Manage banking and treasury activities including FX hedging activity, supplier payment processing etc.
    Preparation of monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations for review by the Finance Manager.
    Review, monitor, and implement internal controls within the business as required.
    Promote and ensure business compliance to internal controls and manager remedial actions as required.

    About you Minimum 5 years' experience in an accounting position, ideally within the manufacturing industry Bachelor of Commerce (or similar)CPA / CA qualification Previous experience with large ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics, SAP etc) desirable Knowledge of relevant Australian Accounting Standards and International Financial Reporting Standards.

    Strong process design, development, and implementation skills Must be self-motivated and able to work autonomously / independently, but also operate collaboratively as a member of the broader finance team Advanced computer skills including with the Microsoft Office package suite (Excel, Power Point, Outlook etc)Language & Other Skills Demonstrated business and analytical skills Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Integrity with strong ethical underpinning Expert attention to detail Meticulous and thorough Strong organisational skills Possesses a strong level of personal accountability Well-developed problem-solving skills Copes effectively with change or when faced with new challenges Proven ability to work collaboratively and exert influence across functional groups About the Benefits As a market leader, Mapei Australia understands and recognises the contribution employees make to the success of our business.
