    Description

    What you'll do



    Reporting to the Senior Coordinating Technical Officer, you will apply your experience in civil and geological technologies to provide:

    • Professional technical support for the conduct of practical classes, including set-up, maintenance and provision of teaching and learning spaces;
    • Demonstrations on the efficient use of equipment and materials, techniques and procedures of specialist equipment, software and online services to staff and students; and
    • Analysis of technical information and data, whilst participating in the development of existing and new practical experiments, and supporting academic research activities as directed.

    What will help you succeed

    Key to your success in this role will be your experience in a civil engineering environment, as well as your demonstrated technical experience in relevant laboratory techniques, equipment and procedures. You will be an enthusiastic and motivated individual who thrives on working with a positive team of professionals. Additionally, you will have:

    • a Diploma or Degree level qualification in civil engineering related discipline with subsequent relevant work experience (or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training);
    • demonstrated experience and knowledge of relevant laboratory equipment including, but not limited to, civil, structural and material testing equipment, soil and geo-mechanic testing, and hydraulic laboratory equipment;
    • demonstrated ability to interpret, promote, apply and maintain apply workplace health and safety principles, standards and practices; and an ability to contribute to the continuous service delivery improvement through the ongoing implementation and review of processes.

    Term : Full-time continuing appointment (36 hrs/week)

    Salary : Total remuneration range $88,559 to $100,438 pa (includes salary range of $74,828 to $84,865 pa, employer super contributions of 17% and annual leave loading)
