    Description

    Overview:
    Our large Federal Government client has a requirement for an IT Security Officer (level 5) to work with IT Security Managers and Officers on the day-to-day management of vulnerability and patch notification distribution and monitoring for Stakeholders, management of non-compliance and management of cyber security incidents and RFIs. The IT Security Officer will be working at Holsworthy in Sydney and will be required to operate in a flexible and agile way in support of a dynamic work area.
    Major Responsibilities:

    • Generate, sustain, and maintain relevant system documents and artefacts
    • Support vulnerability and patch management of relevant systems and associated reporting
    • Support ICT incident response, collate statistics and analyse trends
    • Support the remediation of deficiencies in relevant systems and other defect reports
    • Conduct audits as required
    • Provide reporting as per the governance reporting requirements, and as required
    • Maintain a database of stakeholder engagement and compliance
    • Alert non-compliance to the relevant authorities

    Skills and Knowledge:

    • Engage with relevant stakeholders, identifying any gaps, risks, or issues and report appropriately
    • Be prepared to provide specialist advice to Working groups and senior committee's
    • Successfully collaborate with ADF, APS and contractors
    • Collaborate with the ICT Security Office, and other IT Security Managers and IT Security Officers within units
    • Self-manage their hours to ensure contractual obligations are being met and to advise of contractual risks


    Contract term: 1 July 2024 – 30 June 2025 with 3x12 month extensions
    Location: Holsworthy NSW
    SFIA level required: The Specified Person will be expected to demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 5.
    Security Requirements: To be eligible, you must be an Australian Citizen and hold current Negative Vetting 2 (NV2) minimum security clearance.
