    About the role:

    This is a pivotal role in the company's largest distribution centre, working with key stakeholders nationally, across numerous business units. It's an influential position in key decisions between Logistics, Sales, Production, and the network of trade centres.

    As the Inventory Manager, you will be responsible for implementing process to optimise stock holdings, whilst achieving excellence in service levels.

    • Provide leadership to the inventory team of 3 direct reports, in all elements of inventory control and distribution replenishment planning.
    • Manage inventory accuracy, location transfers, inbound purchases v demand for major customers, and the trade centre network.
    • Analysis of inventory such as ABC, safety stock, slow moving and min and max's.
    • Manage stocktakes, cycle count program, stock adjustments and investigation of discrepancies.
    • Report on risks, potential service outages. Weekly / monthly reporting for IRA all through SAP.
    • Manage pallet control, recoveries, and repairs for all timber packaging.
    • Ensure robust processes are in place across the operations and our 3PL.

    In addition:

      • Maintain, implement, and conduct full documentation on the root cause analysis (RCA) as required for discrepancies as per the policy.
      • Liaise with Construction Systems Demand and Supply Planning team and work within IBP scope.
      • Prepare and issue relevant KPI dashboards.
      • Establish a plan that manages slow moving stock.
      • Liaise daily with distribution staff, customer service staff, production planners and production staff to resolve issues that occur.
      • Work closely with brand Logistics Managers.

    About You:

    • 5+ years in an inventory management position, ideally with high number of SKUs or across multiple brands/products.
    • High level of competency in general business software inclusive of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
    • Experience in using a Warehouse Management System, preferably SAP.
    • Able to deal with ambiguity and change.
    • Strategic thought leader with an active, hands-on execution approach.
    • Innovative and inspiring leader who drives an engaging high-performance culture.
    • Sophisticated change management skills.
    • Strong ability to build relationships internally and externally to identify and support cross functional opportunities/ delivery of CSR strategies.
    • Exceptional planning and prioritisation skills.

    • Strong commercial and analytical acumen.
