    Join our vibrant team as an Area Manager within the mining industry, playing a pivotal role in fostering growth and optimization of FLSmidth's Site and Mining Service Sales.

    Located in South Australia, this position offers an engaging mix of sales, strategic consulting, project collaboration, and domestic travel, all focused on the Australian market.

    What you'll do:

    • Cultivate strong relationships and excel in account management.
    • Foster meaningful connections at the site level.
    • Serve as the primary liaison between customers and FLSmidth, nurturing enduring, profitable relationships within the designated region. This includes comprehensive customer management encompassing coordination of quotes, database management, proactive communication, and efficient resolution of any issues.
    • Identify and comprehensively understand key competitors, their offerings, and potential impacts on sales strategy. Provide invaluable market intelligence regarding competitor and market activity to the Sales Manager and other pertinent team members.
    • Collaborate with the proposal team, offering technical insights to facilitate accurate and timely quotations.
    • Actively contribute to the development and execution of strategies, regional sales plans, budgets, and sales activities to achieve short and long-term sales objectives.
    • Oversee financial aspects within the assigned region, achieving budgetary targets and maximizing profitable volume across all markets for the full spectrum of the company's products.
    • Lead all facets of sales management within the region, including maximizing potential profitable volume, monitoring and analyzing key sales performance indicators, and conducting comprehensive sales forecasting focusing on FLSmidth's complete product range.
    • Provide regular reports on sales, market intelligence, activities, and successes/challenges within the region.
    • Maintain meticulous customer records and profiles using Microsoft CRM.
    • Foster collaborative relationships with fellow team members to enhance knowledge-sharing and contribute to sales and delivery performance.

    What you'll need:

    • Proven experience in managing a geographic sales region or organizational department, preferably within the mining/mining services sector.
    • Sales background demonstrating exceptional customer-relationship building, selling/marketing skills, negotiation prowess, and strong customer service abilities, both external and internal.
    • Exposure to or knowledge of mining or mineral processing equipment and familiarity with FLSmidth products.
    • Proficiency in diverse business processes and strategy development, including strategic and business plan formulation, budgeting, and sales activities.
    • A comprehensive range of technical abilities and understanding of mining and construction industry capital, consumable, and service products.
    • Intermediate proficiency in software applications such as Excel, Word, Project, and Outlook, with a willingness to learn and undergo job-specific training as necessary.
    • Capacity to work collaboratively in a team or independently on multiple concurrent projects.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong organizational, multitasking, prioritization, and time management skills, ensuring effective planning and adherence to high housekeeping standards.
