    An exciting opportunity exists for a Speech Pathologist to join the Department of Education's Student Support Services (SSS) workforce, North Eastern Melbourne Area. In this role you will provide high-level professional advice to schools that strongly influences student learning outcomes and wellbeing policies within a school community, and the wider Area. SSS staff do vital work in supporting students' health and wellbeing and are critical to building an excellent education system that reduces the impact of disadvantage.     Student Support Services (SSS) assists children and young people facing a range of barriers to learning to achieve their educational and developmental potential. We do this through the provision of a range of strategies and specialised support at the individual, group, school, and team level within a Department Area. SSS staff work collaboratively with schools, students, and parents to facilitate improved emotional health and wellbeing for students.

    As a SSS Speech Pathologist, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary Area-based team to build the capabilities of schools to support children and young people to engage in their education. The multidisciplinary Area-based teams consist of a broad range of Allied Health professionals including psychologists, speech pathologists, social workers and visiting teachers.

    SSS Speech Pathologists provide comprehensive services to schools and school aged students, to enhance developmental and learning outcomes and support student health and wellbeing.

    The position is part-time (0.8FTE) and fixed-term until 12/02/2025. The position services the Whittlesea area and is based at Lalor.
