    The Information Management and Technology Division (IMTD) guides the Departments' digital capability and is leading digital transformation for the Department including Victorian government schools. The Division architects, manages and supports the largest technology network in Victoria, supporting a user base of approximately 750,000 staff and students.

    IMTD provides innovation and leadership in the transformation and management of the Department's digital capability through the implementation of solutions on the department's cloud environment (IaaS), enterprise cloud platforms (PaaS) and software (SaaS), using agile practices with a focus on user experience, security, and integration.

    About the opportunity

    This is an ongoing opportunity to join the Information Security team within IMTD reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer.

    The Security Advisory Manager leads the creation and execution of security roadmaps which align with technology and strategic objectives. The incumbent offers support in security management, fostering compliance with security industry practices, and driving secure-by-design culture throughout the department.

    • Bachelor's degree, or above in Cyber Security or related field.
    • Demonstrated extensive experience in working in an architecture function in a complex environment, including experience with contemporary business technologies and architectural frameworks, knowledge of industry standard security architecture metholodogies, tools and techniques.
    • Demonstrated experience architecting for typical cyber threats impacting technology platforms across network, cloud services, databases, website platforms, and endpoint devices.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills including quality, concise technical documentation, report writing and presentations.
    • Understands the broader context when reviewing an issue or problem and supports others to do so. Is future oriented in analysis, thought and action. Actively seeks out new technology to enhance team systems, processes, and service delivery. Undertakes planning to ensure the department is future ready through managing change.
    • Identifies issues in common for one or more clients or stakeholders and uses them to build mutually beneficial partnerships; Identifies and responds to stakeholder's underlying needs; Uses understanding of the stakeholder's departmental context to ensure outcomes are achieved.
    • Communicates role expectations and purpose. Recognises staff deviation from values and performance standards and provides timely and constructive feedback. Understands individual needs to optimise employee engagement.
