    Reporting to the Construction Manager and working closely with the Health & Safety Manager, the Lead Health & Safety collaborates and coaches all BCI site-based team members and our Contractors to ensure that all Health & Safety risks are identified and mitigated ensuring that Health & Safety at Mardie site remains everyone?s priority.

    They also support continual improvement of Health & Safety governance and the BCI Minerals (BCI) Health & Safety Management system and champion psychosocial risk management.

    As construction progresses at Mardie, we are continuing to shape our team.

    The Role

    We are seeking a passionate individual who is eager to create a safe and positive working environment for site employees and contractors, who can guide, lead, mentor, and coach the Heath & Safety team and participate in overall planning and workload management.

    You should have an open communication style and be willing to participate and promote positive workplace cultures and behaviours for employees and contractors on site.

    Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

    Leadership:
    Manage the site Health & Safety, ensuring tasks are completed within required timeframes.

    Planning and Coordination:
    Participate in overall Health & Safety planning, liaising with the Site Leadership team to schedule key tasks and objectives.
    Support other departments through open communication and provision of resources.

    Culture Promotion:
    Promote a positive workplace culture and behaviours, championing psychosocial risk management processes and implementation.

    Training and Coaching:

    Coach and support BCI team members and Contractors in Health & Safety matters, ensuring compliance with training requirements and competency assessments.


    Management Systems Maintenance:

    Assist in maintaining BCI?s Health & Safety Management System and driving implementation of Critical Controls Standards and Principle and Fatality Risk Prevention Programs.


    Auditing and Inspection:
    Oversee audits and inspections to ensure compliance with BCI and legislative requirements.
    Provide feedback and support action plans for workplace inspections and audits.

    Risk Management:
    Ensure risk assessments are conducted, communicated to stakeholders, and actioned appropriately.
    Support Change Management processes and contractor risk assessments.

    Incident Management:
    Facilitate incident reporting, recording, and investigation according to BCI standards.
    Communicate lessons learned and ensure timely closure of actions.

    Contractor Management:
    Support contractor mobilisation, conduct Health & Safety audits, and monitor contractor performance, ensuring adherence to BCI Minerals requirements.

    Health Compliance:
    Oversee the implementation of health and hygiene programs, verify compliance with management plans and risk assessments.

    Health & Safety Representatives:
    Ensure a comprehensive Health & Safety representative program is embedded to ensure continuous improvement of Health & Safety.

    About You:


    The successful candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of relevant Health & Safety experience and have a solid understanding of Work Health & Safety Acts, Regulations, Standards, Codes and Guidelines for Western Australia.

    You will have proven ability to develop, implement and maintain Health & Safety management systems on a project site and have experience with risk management techniques and processes.

    It is imperative that you have experience leading and coaching a Health & Safety team and you have strong communication skills with the ability to adjust your approach across various stakeholders throughout the business.

    It is desirable to have your Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and a Lead Auditor Qualification.
    You will be required to have experience in incident investigations and reporting.
    You must have current unrestricted working rightsfor Australiato be eligible for consideration.
