    Description

    Our client is seeking an experienced systems administrator required for design, development, maintenance and integration of ICT infrastructure and security systems across the full lifecycle of the product owner's systems.
    Responsibilities:
    Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

    • Plan and contribute to the implementation and maintenance of a complex ICT environment containing VMware, Windows and/or Linux based systems.
    • Plan and contribute to the provisioning, support and maintenance of Storage Area Network (SAN) appliance, physical and virtual server infrastructure and a small fleet of desktops.
    • Ensure the reliability of the system by using standard procedures and tools to carry out defined system configuration, backups, and restoring data where necessary. This includes development of scripts to automate tasks.
    • Use network management tools to collect, report and respond to network load and performance statistics.
    • Identify operational problems and contribute to their resolution, checking that they are managed in accordance with agreed standards and procedures.
    • Provide technical expertise to enable the correct application of operational procedures and maintain technical documentation.

    Required Skills/Knowledge:

    • Proven experience in administering a secure and reliable VMware, Linux and/or Windows ICT environment (essential)
    • Data processing, scripting and coding skills, specifically in Bash, XSLT, PowerShell, Python or C (desirable)
    • Experience in administering virtual machine systems, particularly VMware and/or Red Hat (desirable)

    Location: Canberra.
    Contract term: 12 months or until 30 June 2025
    SFIA level required: The Specified Person will be expected to demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 4
    Security Requirements: Current Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance is strongly preferred, however candidates who have held a TSPV in the previous 12-month period (which has since been downgraded) may be considered.
