    Position Title: Visiting Medical Officer - Pain Medicine
    Employment Type: Quinquennium until 30/06/27
    Hours per week: 4 hou(0.1 FTE) 1 session per week at our Chronic pain Clinic on Fridays.
    Position Grade: Visiting Medical Officer
    Salary: As per the award
    Enterprise Agreement: The Public Hospitals (Visiting Medical Officers Sessional Contracts) Determination 2014

    About the role:

    We are seeking applications for a Visiting Medical Officer to join the department for the care of privately referred non-inpatients. Duties include:

    • Participate in consultation, outpatient, care and teaching duties
    • Provide General Psychiatry in Pain Medicine outpatient services – outpatient services include public outpatients plus privately-referred non-inpatients under a Standard Licence Agreement (in accordance with NSW Health Guideline GL2009_008)
    • Provide advice on general psychiatricl conditions and/or conditions associated with disability that form part of many presentations to the chronic pain clinic including rheumatological conditions, neurological conditions, transplant medicine, immunology, neurology and musculoskeletal disease and injury.
    • We have a Friday clinic and are offering 1 sessions on that day.

    Selection Criteria:

    • Possess, or be eligible to possess, specialist registration in Psychiatry with AHPRA.
    • Possess Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry (RANZP)
    • Demonstrated knowledge, skills and high standards of clinical psychiatric practice in Pain medicine commensurate with experience which is appropriate to the requirements of the position;
    • Experience and expertise in Pain Medicine in a teaching hospital environment.
    • Demonstrated leadership skills that support and foster innovation to create a learning culture, with proven ability to improve the quality of services and patient care outcomes;
    • Demonstrated ability to provide high quality compassionate medical care as evidenced by recent practice experience in working congenially and collaboratively as both a leader and member of a multidisciplinary team, and as a provider of services that engender high levels of patient satisfaction and experience;
    • Demonstrated ongoing contribution to the development, dissemination, and translation of new knowledge and practices commensurate with work in an academic teaching hospital environment;
    • Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries.
