    The opportunity:

    The Operations Controller plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless and efficient operation of Kinetic's bus services. This position is responsible for real-time management and support of frontline driving staff, responding to both normal and emergency situations. Our Operations Controllers diligently log and analyze data related to service exceptions and occurrences, all while maintaining a strong commitment to meeting client requirements for scheduled and ad-hoc bus services through accurate and compliant scheduling of services and fleet resources

    You'll be involved in:

    • Coordinate bus and employee operational movements for scheduled bus services and routes
    • Schedule in line with all necessary safety and compliances regulations including, but not limited to HVNL and WHS legislation
    • Liaise with workshop personal to coordinate and schedule maintenance requirements including defects, planned servicing and inspections
    • Manage and allocate fleet in line with the compliance requirements to meet the client expectations
    • Ensure availability of fleet in each operational depot is sufficient to meet the service demands
    • Ensure accuracy of driver work instructions are kept up to date, this includes work ticket changes and roster changes as operationally required
    • Continually review and provide effective cover in the event of unexpected needs due to such instances as vehicle breakdowns, staffing changes, late running of buses, demand, and poor weather etc
    • Provide information and, as necessary, direction to the relevant managers and team leaders to enable them to minimise the impacts on customers because of service disruptions or emergencies and incidents.
    • Report immediately on accidents, incidents, and the recovery plan for driving activity. This includes staff and vehicles incidents via company systems and any adverse driver behaviours.
    • Provide timely support to frontline employees during emergencies and incidents.
    • Ensure all operational occurrences or exceptions are recorded appropriately to enable the business to meet its reporting obligations and analyse operational performance and implement

    The boxes you'll tick:

    Mandatory:

    • Ability to work shift work.
    • Previous experience scheduling and/or Operations Controller in a complex operational environment.
    • Ability to solve problems, manage complexity and multitask. Excellent communication skills.
    • Exceptional planning and organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Solid understanding of Heavy Vehicle National Law and Regulations (NHVR).
    • The ability to communicate, preparedness to take initiative, and strong results orientation whilst demonstrating a professional work ethic.
    • Ability and preparedness to build relationships with internal as well as external stakeholders such as clients and vendors
    • Flexibility, attention to detail and resilience.
    • Strong Microsoft Office skills (SharePoint, One Drive, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of company systems and processes
    • Willingness to undertake drug and alcohol screening.

    Desirable:

    • Previous experience in transport/logistics industry.
    • Previous experience using planning software Coach Manager.
