Cyber Security Specialist
Are you a Cyber Security Specialist with a deep understanding of Commonwealth Government frameworks and the technical aspects of Cyber Security?
This role offers the opportunity to drive a Cyber Security Strategy Implementation program, overseeing critical projects, policy uplift, and Essential Eight maturity improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Under the general direction of the ITSA, you will:
- Drive Program Implementation: Oversee the Cyber Security Strategy, including Policy Uplift and Essential Eight maturity improvements.
- Documentation & Accreditation: Develop ICT systems Certification and Accreditation documentation to lead Authority to Operate (ATO).
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with internal/external stakeholders and architects to integrate security requirements into new projects.
- Leadership: Mentor staff, foster a security-aware culture, and optimise team resources to mitigate risks.
- Compliance & GRC: Develop and refine GRC frameworks, ensuring alignment with the ISM and PSPF.
- Operations: Lead Vulnerability Management and manage security incidents, ensuring swift resolution.
Essential Experience
- Government Frameworks: 5+ years in a leadership role with in-depth knowledge of PSPF and ISM.
- Security Documentation: Proven expertise in developing SRMP, SRA, SSP, Annex A, and SOPs.
- Risk & Threat Modelling: Skilled in identifying vulnerabilities, assessing impact, and ensuring continuous monitoring.
- Technical Implementation: Experience in Cyber Security Operations and implementing Essential Eight-compliant controls.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to apply principles-based solutions to complex security challenges.
Desirable Qualifications & Skills
- Industry Certifications: Active qualifications such as CISSP, CISM, OSCP, CCSP, or SANS GCED.
- Technical Tools: Hands-on experience with Tenable, M365 security capabilities, and Microsoft Azure security configurations.
- Communication: Ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
