    Your Role

    You will be responsible for managing the A&H Underwriting team within NSW, and developing and maintaining relationships with producers to profitability grow the portfolio nationally.

    Your Responsibilities

  • Reviews, analyses, accepts or rejects all new business and renewal risks within the designated line of business
  • Maintains face to face contact with producers and clients to present products and services as well as maintain liaison with producers to obtain distribution opportunities on new risks across all Chubb product lines
  • Consults with other Chubb product lines to ensure a consistent and timely response to the producer
  • Works in conjunction with the Head of A&H Corporate and NSW State Manager to meet the training and development needs of A&H divisional staff as determined in the performance planning process
  • Maintenance of reporting procedures relevant to all tasks undertaken. Recommends and sees through changes to standards or procedures as necessary
  • Assists the Head of A&H Corporate in developing plans and objectives to profitably grow the A&H business
  • Work in conjunction with the NSW State Manager and A&H Product Line Managers to develop and implement strategic plans
  • Produce and comply with required reporting procedures
  • Ensure compliance with Chubb underwriting instructions and standard operating procedures
  • Your Skills & Experience:

  • Successful completion of a relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent business experience
  • Broad knowledge of Insurance Industry and specific Product Underwriting developed from at least 7 years in a Product Underwriting position
  • Demonstrated effective communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills to be capable of dealing with all levels of stakeholders, including internal personnel, producers and clients
  • Proven analytical skills necessary to judge the desirability of complex or unusual risks within the Product Line of Business
  • Experience in people management and staff development
  • Proven record of successful growth of profitable specialty business, through both new business and renewal growth
  • Demonstrated adherence to underwriting standards, policies and processes
