- Supervise the Barwon South West Area team of authorised officers, ensuring compliance with National and Victorian Law
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and coaching to your team, including performance reviews and workload priorities
- Prepare documentation including reports, policy submissions, Ministerial briefings and similar
- Engage with key stakeholders, internal and external, to achieve regulatory outcomes
- Assist with escalated issues identified by the rest of your team
- Contribute to regional regulatory work aligned with priorities set by the Regional Manager and wider government Department
- Support the Early Childhood Reform platforms and emergency management
- Relevant tertiary qualification in early childhood teaching, human welfare studies, behavioural studies, or other related fields.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to build support and influence others
- In-depth knowledge of early childhood education, regulation theory, National Quality Framework, and relevant legislation.
- Ability to motivate, build commitment, and translate organisational strategy into actionable plans.
- Access to comprehensive training and development programs.

About the Company:
We are working with a Victorian State government department, to find an experienced Area Manager for the Early Childhood Education sector in the Barwon South West Area. This is an exciting full-time ongoing opportunity, to contribute to a team that champions continuous improvement in the sector. You will be based in the Belmont head office, with required travel around the local and wider area and the flexibility to work from home on occasion.
About the Role:
As the Area Manager, you will lead, support and mentor authorised officers with the Early Childhood sector. Your role will involve ensuring that regulatory tasks are carried out according to both national and state laws, regulations and government policies. You'll be responsible for providing direction, supervising teams, offering strategic guidance, conducting investigations and managing relationships with stakeholders.
