About the role:

We are currently seeking a casual Outreach Support Worker to join our team in Rockhampton. Our Outreach Support Worker will support young people ensuring each young person receives individualised support and care to promote physical, emotional, and psychological wellness.

What will a typical day look like?

Provide respite to carers by taking planned outings with young people (these shifts are likely to take place in the afternoon or on the weekend).
Provide opportunities for children and young people to develop and learn life skills appropriate to their age and ability.
Support young people in maintaining connections with family, culture, country, and community.
Support young people to develop safety, health, and wellbeing measures.
Support social, recreational, educational and health activities for young people in line with their individual care plan.
Support young people in accessing appointments (transport).
Engage therapeutically with young people.

Mandatory Requirements:

Full COVID-19 Vaccination
Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention/Community Services or equivalent or working toward this qualification (proof of enrolment required).
Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) completed or scheduled prior to commencement of employment. Available through ACQ.
Hope and Healing Modules (10 modules) completed prior to commencement of employment.
Ability to obtain a Blue Card (working with children check positive notice or exemption)
Ability to obtain a Yellow Card (disability services positive notice or exemption notice)

Desirable:

Relevant experience in out of home care is highly desirable.
