    About the opportunity

    The Student Experience Advisor provides and promotes high quality client-focused services and student engagement programs across Library sites to support students and respond to needs identified through user research.

    The role will work with the line manager to develop and deliver student experience programs. Working collaboratively across teams within the Site Services division, this role will support user research activities as well as the development, delivery, and evaluation of new and existing student experience programs utilising design thinking methodologies.

    Your key activities will be to:

    • provide in-person and virtual customer service in the Library
    • coordinate the Student Experience programs within the library to support small and large scale events
    • participate in the development and delivery of high-quality client-focused student engagement services
    • develop creative and engaging services to support postgraduate, undergraduate and researcher client groups
    • maintain and manage digital content related to the student engagement program
    • support frontline Library staff to deliver high quality client-focused services.

    While the role will be based at the Susan Wakil Health Building Library, the University Library reserves the right to transfer or rotate the location of these positions to any of its Library sites based on workloads, professional development or business needs.

    These roles will be regularly rostered across the hours of 8am – 7pm Monday – Friday with opportunity for overtime shifts on weeknights and weekends. Weekend hours are between 9am-5pm.

    About you

    • evidence of high-level customer service skills and experience
    • experience in effectively planning and delivering programs, events, or activities
    • experience creating or maintaining web content
    • computer skills in a range of word processing, database, spread sheet and web-based software
    • experience contributing to a team, focusing on accomplishing team goals, and supporting other team members
    • creativity in applying technology to support improvement of existing services and work practices.

    Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
