The Financial Services Specialist, Agribusiness primary focus is to assist the Loan Officers within the Agribusiness segment in preparing complex, multi-million dollar loan packages that meet procedural and regulatory requirements. This includes, but is not limited to, collecting personal data, preparing loan closing documentation, and organizing and analyzing data for completeness. Additionally, this person monitors pending or active loan accounts, interact with, respond to applicants, and reviews policies and procedures to determine actions on various account maintenance activities.

    The starting salary for this position is $45,000, however salary may be commensurate with experience.

    Potential Office locations in Missouriinclude Columbia or O'Fallon.Other FCS Branch locations will be considered based on the candidates' qualificationsand needs.

    This position is classified as Non-Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

    Responsibilities/Duties

    40%Loan Application and Processing

    • Determine and communicate additional information needs for loan requests to loan officer, borrower, accountant, or attorney
    • Obtain and review complex entity documents to determine signing authority
    • Prepare and submit complex, multi-million-dollar loan applications for approval
    • Order and review appraisals, title work, and flood determinations, then coordinate corrections with third party contacts
    • Interpret and satisfy loan approval conditions
    • Collaborate with additional departments to obtain loan documents from outside legal counsel
    • Facilitate loan closing with title company and borrower
    • Prepare and deliver loan documents for closing to loan officer or borrower
    • Expedite, track, and communicate with additional departments Level 1 customer loans to meet guidelines of application to close expectations

    15%Post-Closing

    • Review closing documents for signatures, transmit loan, and disburse funds
    • Review and update data integrity based upon credit presentation
    • Identify covenants to be entered in covenant monitoring system
    • Determine appropriate method to secure collateral and process accordingly
    • Scan loan documents and file security documents
    • Determine how to resolve inquires and issues from borrowers, accountants, and attorneys
    • Manage all pending and active loan accounts for assigned loan officer by monitoring reports, transaction activity and loan service plans
    • Collaborate with loan officer on collateral reviews and maintain spreadsheet
    • Collect insurance documentation from agent and determine if coverage is adequate
    • Process servicing actions
    • Work with government agencies on loan program requirements, documentation, and reporting
    • Obtain and organize covenant reporting from borrower

    Required Skills

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Agriculture, Finance, or a related field
    • An understanding of loan processing or loan closing functions
    • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job

    Required Knowledge and Skills

    • General knowledge of credit processing procedures
    • General knowledge of accounting practices and procedures
    • General knowledge of the agricultural industry
    • Oral and written communication skills, sufficient to exchange information effectively with peers, supervisor, and customers
    • Skill in listening and conveying awareness of a customer's problem or issue to find resolution
    • Skill in performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature
    • Skill in organizing material and information in a systematic way to optimize efficiency
    • Skill in recognizing and maintaining confidential information
