    Your Opportunity

    As a Senior Engineer, you will be a part of our Digital & Data Technology team. You will be responsible for creating powerful, modern software, taking it through the whole lifecycle of design, build, test, deploy and support. You will be designing, testing and deploying, new and existing features for our Gift Card product. You will be responsible for code review, attending stand ups, writing and sharing thoughts on sub system designs. Working closely with the product manager, you will be discussing new features and breakdown tasks to achievable components. Working in a cross functional team to create and maintain experiences for many different user groups.

    We are also ambitious to grow, by expanding and enhancing the total Westfield experience through technology, digital products, data and differentiated customer experiences.

    You will be working on our Gift Card product and over 2 million Westfield Gift Cards are sold annually via our staffed concierge desks and online, with wide acceptance within Westfield Centres at businesses with eftpos facilities. As we continue to expand and operate the Gift Card technology platform, we are looking for people to join our team and help us maintain and enhance the platform into the future.

    You will have overall accountability for:

    • Design, build, testing, deploy and support new and existing features (owning the complete lifecycle of a feature)
    • Peer review code, understanding the impact of overall design choices
    • Input into system architecture
    • Solve system bugs, performance problems, production issues
    • Mentor other engineers
    • Facilitates communication during software lifecycle e.g., stand ups, retrospectives, etc
    • Influence direction of team
    • Help optimise completion of work
    • Estimate effort and feed into prioritisation

    Technical skills and knowledge required:

    • Strong experience in building full stack software in the .NET ecosystem (.NET 6, .NET Framework, ASP.NET WebForms & MVC, Entity Framework, WCF, Web API, Multithreading, Queue Processing, HTML, JavaScript, CSS)
    • Strong experience and understanding of Transact SQL and SQL Server
    • Strong understanding and experience using modern programming design patterns and practices (Gang of Four, SOLID etc)
    • Microsoft Azure experience (App Services, Web Jobs, App Service APIs)
    • Strong development testing knowledge (unit testing, integration testing)
    • Experience in modern microservice and event driven architectures
    • Experience with modern version control practices using tools like Git and GitHub
