    Description

    The Facilities Manager role is to provide support and assist the Assistant Director and Director Property & Services. This role requires an approachable and service driven person who works under limited direction and can exercise reasonable autonomy and accountability within their scope of duties. This position is primarily responsible for coordination of facilities maintenance within IP Australia's Head Office in Canberra, in compliance with the Whole of Government's Property Services Coordinated Procurement arrangements (WoAG PSCP). This role will also hold the position of Emergency Control Co-Ordinator as a member of the Emergency Control Organisation.

    Position duties

    The position specific duties include:

    • Facilities Management at Discovery House, Woden (IP Australia's Head office)
    • Provide support in managing whole of life leasing arrangements in accordance with the Department of Finance's Property Framework.
    • Supporting the agency to design and implement innovative and sustainable accommodation fit-out options to support modern ways of working and Net Zero in Government Operations Strategy.
    • Oversee a small team in the delivery of facilities management and support for major events and conferences where required.
    • Supporting the agency's emergency management response and business recovery measures.
    • Providing support with accommodation and building projects, and associated project management procedures.
    • Demonstrate, as part of ongoing duties, commitment to IP Australia's ISO certified Environmental Management System and Net Zero in Government Operations Strategy.
    • Internal and external stakeholder relationship management.
