- Research & Development: Implement and develop advanced computational and machine learning techniques to analyze large-scale genomic data.
- Data Analysis: Process, analyse, and interpret high-throughput genomic data to derive clinically meaningful insights.
- Collaboration: Work closely with researchers, clinicians, and other stakeholders to integrate computational findings into actionable clinical strategies.
- Publication & Dissemination: lead research papers, and presentations at national and international conferences, and engage in other scholarly activities to share findings with the broader scientific community. Act as an Investigator on project and grant applications.

- PhD or MD in a relevant area
- 2 years relevant experience
- Extensive experience with computational biology techniques is expected
- Demonstrated evidence of research leadership and publication of primary research in leading journals

- Acted as an Associated Investigator on project and grant applications

THE OPPORTUNITY
The Translational Genomics Program at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research seeks an exceptional candidate for a computational Research Officer position. The incumbent will be involved in clinical cancer research, primarily utilizing computational and machine-learning methodologies to address contemporary challenges in precision oncology. The incumbent is accountable for conducting independent experiments within their Research Program in a collaborative framework with their supervisor. This is a 3 year term contract.
