- Collaborating with the security team to ensure the implementation and monitoring of security controls, while effectively managing risks.
- Engaging with technology and business stakeholders to proactively address cyber risks.
- Conducting real-time monitoring and security alert triage for systems and services through established processes and procedures.
- Investigating cyber events/alerts to determine whether they constitute a cyber incident.
- Designing and implementing cybersecurity controls to safeguard business systems.
- Contributing to the development of response procedures and promoting compliance with cybersecurity policies and standards.
- Monitoring and administering security tools such as EDR, SIEM, Vulnerability Management, Patch Management, Access Control, etc.
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to uplift cybersecurity across the business.
- Identifying current and emerging technology issues, including security trends, vulnerabilities, and threats.
- Good understanding of cybersecurity principles, threats, vulnerabilities, and control frameworks such as NIST CSF, Essential 8.
- Familiarity with security tools such as CrowdStrike, Proofpoint, Netskope, and Rapid7.
- Experience in leading and delivering Data Risk Management, DLP, and Essential 8 security outcomes.
- Experience in solution risk assessments and vendor risk assessments.
- Experience in working with external vendors and delivery partners.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders across business and technology teams.
- Capacity to work independently and manage multiple projects, assignments, and responsibilities.
- Enthusiasm for staying updated on security threats and solutions.
- Demonstrated experience of 5+ years in an information technology role, preferably in cybersecurity, network administration, or systems administration.
- Security certifications such as CISSP or a willingness to undertake them.
- Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or a related field.
