    City of Parramatta has an exciting career opportunity for a qualified tradesperson to lead our growing Parks Infrastructure team

    About the role

    As the Team Leader you will be responsible for leading field based operational employees to delivering trades-based work on our fixed assets including buildings, playgrounds, shelters, and sporting courts to ensure the long-term management, condition, and usability of the assets.

    This is a permanent full-time position working within the Parks and Open Spaces team reporting to the Coordinator Parks Infrastructure.

    On a daily basis you will:

    • Lead the team by overseeing all activities, plan, organise and decide how to accomplish tasks, set goals, communicate, and distribute information within the team.
    • Undertake the day-to-day management of staff, including dispute resolution and assist the technical officers and/or Coordinator with performance management.
    • Mentor new starters and others within the team to undertake on-the-job training for the team.

    About You
    The successful candidate should have previous experience leading a team particularly in a trade's environment. As the team leader you will be responsible for overseeing team operations, assigning tasks, planning of works, establishing goals, encouraging open communication and be able to distribute information amongst the team.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum certificate III qualification in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, building and construction and landscape construction relevant to role/area of specialisation.
    • Hold a current NSW C, Class Driver's license
    • Possession of a White card
    • Asbestos Awareness- "or the ability and willingness to obtain"

    We are offering an attractive weekly remuneration from $1,405 to $1,548 plus 11% superannuation.
