    Description

    The Opportunity

    Joining a small team of GPs and triage nurses, our After-Hours General Practitioners (AHGPs) play a crucial role in delivering virtual GP telephone and video consultations for individuals of all ages with a diverse range of medical conditions. Calls are received through the Health Direct nurse triage service and escalated for medical review when necessary, all within an approved service scope aimed at enhancing general practice accessibility.

    You'll have all the necessary equipment and technology to conveniently work remotely from home, offering a flexible opportunity to advance your career.

    Requirements include a minimum commitment of 8 hours per week (with potential for up to 37.5 hours) between 6pm and midnight on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, as well as 12 noon to midnight on Saturdays, with shifts varying from 2 to 8 hours at a time.

    This engagement extends until January 31, 2025.

    Additionally, you should have the following tools:

    • Home office setup in a private area
    • Stable internet connection
    • An active phone line in your workspace (with a provided modem for secure calls)
    • Availability for 2 full days of paid virtual training from 9am to 5pm on 12/13th or 26/27th June or 10th/11th July

    About You

    This position is ideal for a Medical Practitioner holding full AHPRA registration and a minimum of 3 years of full-time equivalent experience as a General Practitioner, with at least 1 year in Australian General Practice.

    As a virtual GP, effective communication through audio and video platforms is essential, along with the ability to collaborate using digital tools and software like MS Teams.
