Payroll Specialist Melbourne VIC, Australia Req #7956 15 March 2021 About the position Ceridian is currently seeking a Payroll Specialist to work in a team that will manage the full payroll process for our customers. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for receiving, validating and completing all processes and audits as a part of the payroll process. You will be required to develop and maintain good working relationships with your client team, respond to, and resolve client employee queries within the timescales defined, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of AUS and NZ payroll legislation. Specific performance and personal competencies required for the position include - Strong, relevant experience in a similar role with a strong concentration in AUS payroll - Experience in dealing with high volume payroll circa 3,000 customer employees - Industry related certifications or will obtain within one year of employment - Ability to interface with clients and to use critical thinking skills to resolve complex problems. - Strong working knowledge of quality control and auditing standards - Self starter with a Service oriented personality - Ability to effectively work globally, engaging with partners and leaders locally and in Europe and North America on a regular basis. - Recent or current experience processing NZ payroll and knowledge of NZ legislative requirements an advantage. Qualifications - Experience in high volume payroll operation. End to end payroll experience is a plus. - Experience in the payroll outsourcing or consulting industry preferred - Requires a clear understanding of payroll, and understanding of applicable legislative requirements - Ability to resolve client s issues and provide superior customer service to internal and external partners - Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly, technically and effectively with customers and internal partners - Experience working in a case management system such as Microsoft Dynamics or Salesforce is preferred - Good analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills - Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint - APA Payroll qualification desired - Experience working with Dayforce or similar cloud payroll technology desirable. Responsibilities - Responsible for ensuring all aspects of the payroll cycle, including tax, Superannuation etc. are processed, reconciled, audited and transmitted accurately and on time - Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll impacting changes, payments and payroll processing for assigned clients - Responsible for quality control and auditing to ensure accuracy and low error or defect percentage - Work with cross-functional internal partners to resolve client payroll matters and employee enquiries - Provide HR Payroll support services to clients per contract, government compliance and business needs - Create, update and review standard operating procedures and perform quarterly document reviews - Have an I own it attitude about deliverables and projects from start to finish - Think and act ahead, spot opportunities and act accordingly proactively contributing to process improvements Other details - Job Family Non Exempt Clerical - Job Function Payroll - Pay Type Salary
